چکیده
Physicians and nurses at a single hospital were surveyed on which risk factors were most important in deciding to order Clostridium difficile diagnostic testing. Disagreement between physicians and nurses on the relative importance of several of the risk factors warrants further investigation.

Investigation of Antimicrobial Susceptibility in Clostridium Difficile Isolated From Older Adult Residents of a Nursing Home in Tehran
Background: CClostridium difficile is an anaerobic gram-positive bacterium currently recognized as the most common cause of nosocomial infectious diarrhea in the nursing home. The antibiotic susceptibility profiles are the basic step to successful treatment due to the antimicrobial resistance. This present study assessed the susceptibility profiles of C. difficile, previously isolated from Elde...
متن کاملIsolation of Clostridium difficile and molecular detection of binary and A/B toxins in faeces of dogs
The aim of this study was to isolate Clostridium difficile from dogs’ faeces, and to study the frequency of its virulence genes. A total of 151 samples of dogs’ faeces were collected. The isolation of C. difficile was performed by using the bacterial culture methods followed by DNA extraction using boiling method. Multiplex PCR method was performed for identification of tcdA, tcdB, cdtA and cdt...
متن کاملMolecular Analysis of Toxigenic Clostridium difficile Isolates from Hospital Environment by PCR Ribotyping Method
Background and Aims: Clostridium difficile is an identified cause of antibiotic-associated diarrhea, antibiotic-associated colitis, pseudomembranous colitis and nosocomial diarrhea. The objective of this survey was to determine molecular analysis of toxigenic Clostridium difficile isolates from hospital environment in Tehran tertiary medical centers. Materials and Methods: In this descriptiv...
متن کاملDetection of Virulence Genes of Clostridium difficile in Children with Cancer by Multiplex PCR
Introduction: Toxigenic Clostridium difficile is the major cause of antibiotic-associated diarrhea, colitis, and pseudomembranous colitis. The pathogenicity of C. difficile is related to toxins A&B. Children with cancer are at risk of developing C. difficile infection (CDI) due to increased exposure to antibiotics, immunosuppression, and longer hospital stays. Recently, due to higher sensitivity...
